For a great Saturday or Sunday afternoon diversion, head west on Hwy 1431 toward Marble Falls. Watch for the Flat Creek Estates sign (about 15 minutes after you leave Lago Vista). The winery has 20 acres of vines, a Bistro to get some lunch, and great tasting room. The tasting room charges $5 for several flights. This excursion is worth the short trip from the Casita. Look up the winery online for a menu and other details about special events.
